Find An Insurance Broker

Finding an insurance broker is relatively easy, but finding a GOOD insurance broker can be quite hard. Most people find an insurance broker by asking friends and family members who their broker is. A broker or brokerage that is recommended by several people should indicate that they are worth contacting. A referral from someone you trust can’t be beaten!

If you don’t have the time to ask around, then try BrokerFinder.co.za. This site lists brokers in your area and has an easy to use search function. However, all of the brokers listed on this site are working with BNB Sure which means it isn’t a comprehensive list of brokers available. You may also want to check in your local Yellow Pages for local insurance brokers.

Here are some tips on selecting a good broker:

- A good broker will first try to understand all your insurance requirements and current financial standing. A bad broker will try to push a particular insurance product from the get go.

- A decent broker will clearly explain what level of cover a particular policy provides and explain important facets such as your excess and claims procedure.

- Once you have selected a policy, a good broker should handle all the paperwork for you and should you need to claim, your broker should yet again take care of the paperwork.

- All insurance brokers should be registered with the Financial Services Board and should have a registration number.
